When I was 17 I gained weight due to bad habits. I could not zipper my jeans, I had to lay on the bed pull them together so my mom could zipper them for me. She told me I needed new jeans, I said no I have to loose some weight.
I changed the way I was eating, I went gluten free when was not even a thing or being talked about. I started working out 5 days a week for an hour and a half.
It took about a year for me to get to where I wanted to be.

I learned to listen to my body. How did I feel after eating certain things. I learned that when I ate anything with salt I would retain water. I learned when it came to cravings I needed to eat whatever I was craving. I tried to eat something else I deemed healthier, but I found I was eating more and would end up eating whatever I was craving.
I was afraid of gaining the weight back and started doing speed to control my eating. For a while I was using laxatives to control my weight. I even made myself throw up after eating to much, did not last long due to the process not making me comfortable. This went on for years into my twenties.
At 26 I had my daughter and it all stopped. I learned how and what to eat to maintain my weight. It became hard to workout for an hour and a half while she was young, so I developed a new mind set, something is better than nothing.
Five years later I had my son and again the working out was put on the back burner. Two years after that I had my youngest son and was working out some while I was pregnant until I started getting muscle spasms and it became to uncomfortable.

After my youngest was born my husband became sick. I was homeschooling my daughter and things just spiraled along with my weigh and exercise.
About 4 years later my husband died and I was left with a 13 year old, 7 and 5 year old. I was homeschooling all of them and slowly began workout again. I was also able to get back to watching what I ate and once again took off the weight.
A year and a half later I met my current husband and relocated from Chicago to West Tennessee, where my children and I lived for 5 years. That was in 2005, in 2008 my husband became ill and was told to take a month off of work. He was told he had reoccurring mono and 6 months later chronic fatigue syndrome.
On a fluke he found out it was mercury poisoning from the silver fillings in his teeth, which he has 10 of. While he was doing research to find out where the mercury was coming from he learned that the American Dental Association had a gag order on the dentists. If they told their patients that the silver fillings were toxic (50% mercury) they could loose their license.
We thought to ourselves what else are they not telling us? We started doing a bunch of research and Pandora's box flew open. We learned just how toxic our world is and decided if we wanted to have a good quality of life we had to take our health into our own hands. That was 2010, the same year we moved to Southeast Louisiana.

I started gaining weight, again and was hunger all the time. I didn't understand it. I had kept it off for so long, learned how to eat to maintain my weight and was exercising. I then realized it was the food, they started genetically modifing back in the early to mid 90s. It dawned on me, my body wasn't craving more food it was craving nutrients I was not getting from the food. Once we switched to organic food the weight dropped right off.
