Shungite is classified into three main types based on its carbon content and appearance.

 

• Elite (Type I) Shungite is the rarest and purest form, containing up to 99% carbon with a shiny, metallic surface. It’s highly valued for its strong purifying and energetic properties.

• Black (Type II) Shungite, the most common variety, holds 50–70% carbon and features a matte black appearance. It’s often used in jewelry and wellness tools for grounding and EMF protection.

• Gray (Type III) Shungite contains 30–50% carbon and is typically used in water filtration or structural applications while still offering the cleansing energy that makes Shungite so unique.
